Personality: Caster, whose real name is Tamamo-no-Mae, is a polarizing sort of person. On the one hand, she’s very personable and devoted to those she takes a liking to. For most people that meet Caster, what they see is mostly what they get: a cheerful, energetic woman with a bit of a wild side. She affectionate and kind towards the these kinds of people, cracking jokes with them and complimenting them on their hard work and effort, even if they don’t always succeed in whatever they are attempting. She desperately wishes to be a good wife to a kind and loving partner, which was the reason she became a Servant at all, which makes her a somewhat of a people-pleaser who tries to encourage and support others.

In true bubbly fashion, when she finally reveals her true name, she speaks in the third person; calling herself “Tamamo”, which she also insists her Master call her by when they’re alone. She speaks with all of her emotions easily read in her tone, though it doesn’t stop her from being sarcastic and snarky when she feels like it.

On the other hand, every cute animal has a set of teeth, and Tamamo is no exception to that rule. As a Servant, she isn’t afraid to get into fights when needed, and her protectiveness towards her Master is shown in full-force when speaking to their opponents. She has a sharp tongue, which she uses to threaten and insult those she feels have bad intentions towards her or her loved ones. She feels very little fear when it comes to battle, being well experienced long before she even became a Servant, and carries her cheery attitude straight through the hard times as well as the easy ones. She can also get quite jealous, envying the attention her Master pays to other girls.

Despite appearing confident and proud, however, Caster has a sense of insecurity that no amount of bravado can suppress. She’s been burned by trusting the wrong people before, and she’s learned to keep important information about her real identity and personal weaknesses secret from all but the people she loves most in the world. Caster’s not known as the hardest playable servant to hit Matrix Level E with, which is the highest level of data on a Servant that can be reached, for nothing. She is secretive enough to not drop any real hints to her enemies or new allies about herself, but obviously wishes to trust someone to the point that she will suddenly force a pop quiz on someone in order to gauge their reactions to thing she had done in the past and see if they could forgive her for her wrong-doing.

In all, Caster is an insecure but loving woman who isn’t afraid to defend what’s important to her, even at the cost of her own joy or life. She so badly wants to be loved, but even more important to her are the lives of those she loves and wishes to see happy.

Abilities: Caster is a kind of magical being known as a Servant. Basically, this makes her a familiar to a magic-user summoned to fight on their behalf. As such, she survives on the prana (magical energy) of her Master, the person who summoned her. This also allows her to make herself invisible and intangible, as her physical form doesn’t need to be present for her to exist.

Though Caster’s circumstances in becoming a Servant prevent her from using the great power she wielded in life and having a novice Master weakens her further, she is still a power combatant who grows more powerful as you boost her stats during the game. The Caster class is the most formidable class when it comes to spells and magic. While her strength and defense are quite low, her magic skills more than make up for that once her Master has become stronger and her stats level up.

A full list of Caster’s skills can be found here, but they are mostly offensive spells based around elemental affects: attacking with ice and fire, for example. She also has a few stat-buffing spells, which raises her magic ability in order to do more damage and use less prana. Her most powerful spell is her Noble Phantasm, called “Eightfold Blessings of Amaterasu”, which allows her to use magic spells without expending any prana for a limited time.
